Comments from the last Professional Learning Event

These comments were received as feedback from the Leading Learning through Literature event in May:

  • A great day again.  My development as a TL is always helped by your conferences.
  • A very well worthwhile professional development.  I learned so much.  I like so much practicality and achieveable ideas.  The best I have ever been to.
  • Thank you so much for a fast paced, educational and practical day.  Will use lots of new info!
  • A good day.  Glad I came.  Very relevant to the uni course in teacher librarianship I am currently studying.
  • Enjoyed the day and presentations.  So often as a TL I get lost in the day to day operation of library so it is great to be reminded of literature and see new, varied approaches to teaching.

Have you done something great in your library! Share it with us!

Please email

Karen Collins

if you would like to share your knowledge, ideas, successes and hiccups along the way!

Other Events

Throughout the year we may offer an additional variety of programs that might include:

  • national and international speakers and their workshop activities
  • small group "hands-on" practical programs
  • venues in members' school libraries to share our practices
  • locations shared around districts to bring opportunities closer to all

What events would you like to be developed?

Our activities are planned in response to surveys at prior PD events and in accord with our desire to provide a balance of broad understandings, alternatives in pedagogy and specific practical skills.

All members are invited to recommend professional development topics and presenters.

Teacher librarians’ district groups around the state are also invited to contact ASLA (NSW) to negotiate contributions to the organisation of local activities. We may offer prepared packages for whole day or session activities, or we might assist with arranging speakers, according to district preferences. Several districts have taken up this offer.
