SLANSW Inc is organised through honorary officer and general committee positions. Elections are held at the Annual General Meeting.  Each successful nomination has a two-year term.

A general committee of elected members support the office bearers and take on roles that help to promote our focus of professional learning, research and advocacy.

Advocacy includes active promotion of the role of teacher librarians and school libraries and their significance in raising literacy.  It includes the administering of grants for a variety of professional activities as well as the promotion of state wide awards for excellence in the field of teacher librarianship and literacy.

Research includes the development of a state wide research agenda through active support of new and experienced researchers, promotion and publishing of pertinent research and development of professional learning with a focus on research.

Professional learning initiatives reach across the various facets of teacher librarianship and connect to our advocacy and research focus through our media and publications initiatives.
